Nov. 30, 2021—Throughout the month of November, several CFISD departments and community sponsors celebrated the season of giving by collecting, providing and donating Thanksgiving related items to students and families in need.
The student services department and members of the Families in Transition program carried out their 13-year tradition of working with various district departments, community partners and donors to provide gift cards to students and families who qualify as homeless. More than $3,000 was raised, allowing approximately 50 families to receive a $50 H-E-B, Kroger or Walmart gift card to purchase Thanksgiving meals.

“We want to share a special thank you to our sponsors for making a difference through their compassion and generosity,” said Bobbie Jones, CFISD homeless liaison. “We appreciate your continued support and helping us succeed in feeding families in transition.”
